Shirley Jean Johnson
Shirley Jean Johnson was
born in Dallas but returned as an infant with her parents to their
home in Mississippi. She graduated from East Ascension High School,
in Gonzales, Louisiana in 1975. She then graduated from the Practical
Nursing Program at Jones Community College in 1985. A writer since
high school, she first determined to get some of her work published
when a house fire destroyed some of writings, including New Orleans
Style, her first novel. Today, she and her family live on a
21-acre farm in rural Mississippi.
